HM Insurance Group Enhances Worksite Portfolio with Product Updates and a New Whole Life Product

Enhancements reflect market need and client requests

PITTSBURGH – (Aug. 9, 2007) – HM Insurance Group has enhanced its HM Worksite Advantage product portfolio with updates to its Critical Illness and Accident plans and the addition of a new Whole Life product.

Critical Illness now features an Activities of Daily Living (ADL) rider, which provides benefits for insureds who lose the ability to perform two activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, eating and continence. The Critical Illness product rider also extends coverage beyond the traditional critical illnesses of heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, cancer, carcinoma in situ, stroke, major organ transplant and end stage renal failure.

In an industry survey based on first quarter 2007 sales, HM's critical illness product ranked first nationally among those participating.*

"Our critical illness product is considered one of the top in the country," Mark Lancellotti, senior vice president of sales, said. "It is attractive because it pays for first occurrence, additional occurrence and reoccurrence. And now, with the addition of the ADL rider, we are able to cover even more for our clients."

In addition, HM now offers Accident Advantage, a new Accident plan that features reduced premium rates and updated enhancements, making the product even more attractive to employers and employees.

Also, based largely on producer feedback and requests, HM Worksite Advantage now offers a Whole Life product that allows employees the ability to select a benefit level and premium amount to fit their lifestyle and budget. Whole Life has a cash value that is available for loans or withdrawals. This product replaces the previously offered Universal Life.

"Whole life is a better fit for us in today's market," Lancellotti said. "Our producers voiced their clients' demand for a product like this, so we did our research and created the Whole Life product to add to our Worksite portfolio."

The complete HM Worksite Advantage group platform product portfolio includes: Accident, Critical Illness, Disability Income, Supplemental Hospital Indemnity and Whole Life.
